The man accused of orchestrating a murder and dumping the body 35 years ago is now on trial in Oklahoma County.

Raul Sierra, 67, is charged with first degree murder for the death of 23-year-old Roberto Matos Osorio.

Witness testimony on Tuesday described a murder plot that could have come straight from a movie, but it all happened in Northwest Oklahoma City in 1982.

Witnesses described a younger Sierra as a tough drug dealer running the Oklahoma City leg of a Miami-based cocaine trade.

An OSBI agent testified Sierra’s drug runner, Osorio was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in Pottawatomie County in November of 1982. The agent identified in court the red blanket the body was wrapped in.

The agent also testified Osorio was gunned down five days before while he slept in a Northwest Oklahoma City home.

The man who lived in the home with his wife and three children also took the stand on Tuesday.

Jurors heard John Walter’s testimony about the night Osorio was killed. Walters said Sierra ordered him to play loud music and he and his wife went to another room. He said Sierra allegedly shot the drug runner in the face with a sawed-off shotgun.

The OSBI could not tie Sierra to the murder and the case went cold until new evidence was introduced two years ago.

Sierra was arrested in Louisiana and brought back to Oklahoma City.

Another man was implicated in the murder and said to have also shot the victim with a pistol. The other shooter is now dead.

Sierra has pleaded not guilty to the murder.
