Small Metro Business Burglarized Multiple Times In Same Week
OKLAHOMA CITY - Within just a few days, two branches of the same metro area store were targeted by thieves.
Prodigy Vapor and CBD Supply was first targeted Tuesday.
“They threw a rock right here in the window and he literally ran through it to get in,” store manager David Scott said.
Surveillance video clearly shows the suspect breaking the glass, walking into the store and ransacking the merchandise.
It only took the suspect a few minutes to steal thousands of dollars-worth of products.
“They took nearly all of our vape inventory, all our vape kits there, and they also took a bunch of CBD,” Scott said.
Prodigy Vapor and CBD Supply has multiple stores in the metro area.
Before employees at the South Pennsylvania Ave. Oklahoma City location could recover from the first burglary, the Moore Prodigy store was hit Saturday.
The thieves broke into Hummus Restaurant next door first, then entered Prodigy through the connecting drywall.
Dozens of products were stolen from the second location.
“This is the first that I've heard of, but having several of them getting hit kind of the same way it's most likely the same person,” Moore Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said.
Police are working the cases now, using the surveillance footage as evidence.
Scott says he’s taking steps to make sure it doesn’t happen again with glass breaking monitors.
Not only did the thieves break the window and the drywall, they nearly broke the bank for the small business chain.
“To do that to any business isn't good, but a small business, that's just terrible,” Scott said.
Prodigy Vape is offering a cash reward to anyone who can help identify the suspects.
