A Tecumseh youth baseball umpire who’s been calling games since 1973, has been suspended for a year.

In an email, the President of the Tecumseh Youth Sports Association says Umpire Jay Seikel was suspended earlier this week for using profanity.

Seikel admits he told Shane Overby to quote “go to hell” when he tossed Overby from a game Tuesday night.

Overby is also the President of the umbrella organization the Tecumseh Youth Sports Association plays under.

“They didn't like that I told him to go to hell, and apparently that is their interpretation of using profanity," said Seikel.

Overby admits he was angry with Seikel for missing a play at the plate and for refusing to call a handful of balls during the game.
