An Anadarko Purple Heart Recipient is on the receiving end of much needed critical home repair.

Shane Mayall, 33 was critically injured by a rocket propelled grenade in Iraq 12 years ago.

Honoring America’s Warrior Executive Director Scotty Deatherage says more than four dozen volunteers from the Home Depot, Team Rubicon Region Six, and even the owner of the popular Alfredo’s Restaurant chain are spending the next two days doing critical home repair to Mayall’s home in Anadarko.

Deatherage says Mayall is worthy of what eventually will be several thousand dollars of free home repair work, because he’s always given to other veterans since his return from the war.

“Man it just amazes me.  You know you watch the news and you see all the bad that goes on.  But there’s still a lot of good too,” said Mayall, who’s a husband and father of three young children.

“Without these people, this wouldn’t be happening right now, you know it really touches me,” he continued.
