Suspect Identified In Homicide Near OU Golf Course
NORMAN, Oklahoma - Police in Norman are investigating a homicide near the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course, Tuesday afternoon.
Joe Alliniece was arrested by Oklahoma City Police Tuesday evening in connection with the homicide.
The university sent out an alert regarding a “law enforcement emergency” just after 3 p.m. Shortly after, Norman Police confirmed the incident as a homicide investigation.
Witnesses told police they saw the suspect running from the Emerald Green Apartments around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday with his shirt covered in blood. The apartment is located on the southeast side of the OU campus, on the west side of the golf course.
"I am just sitting here stunned, jaw dropped. I can only imagine why there would be a murder in a suburb like this," said neighbor Chris Ramos.
Ramos said he shares an apartment with Paul Jonas. Jonas, a veteran said he asked officers what was going on. "He would not say exactly what it was, but he said someone did something very bad so... if you see a guy 5'10", 6'0 dressed in all black and covered in blood call us right away," said Jonas.
Norman Police believe Alliniece who stands at about 275 lbs. took off on foot, running east down Constituion.
The victim has not been identified by police.
This is a developing story.
