A body was found yesterday in a hidden area off Highway 76 on the northern edge of Blanchard and the death is being investigated as suspicious.
McClain Sheriff Don Hewitt said the body was discovered in the brush about 50 feet from the street.
"The body was decomposed so bad that we could not determine” the identity, said Sheriff Hewitt, but he has an idea of who this person may be. “We do know that we have been looking for an individual who has been missing for about two weeks in this area.”
It seems to fit the case. Hewitt says 31-year-old Dustin Foulks disappearance was reported to his office in early October.
"We've had kind of a general area but, again, we had so many conflicting reports coming in so our search area was enlarged.”
The medical examiner has yet to identify the victim.
Foulks' cousins were also on the scene today and told me it likely is their loved one.
"We had family members,” said Sheriff Hewitt. “They were (sic) the ones that discovered this body approximately around noon today.”
Since October 3rd, the family has suspected foul play.
“If this is part of their family,” Sheriff Hewitt said, “our condolences to the family. It's a tragedy but closure is one of the main things.”
In the meantime, the Sheriff's Office will conduct their investigation on this suspicious death.
