Burglars were caught on camera stealing more than $8,000 worth of musical equipment from an east Tulsa church.

At around 2 a.m. Monday, surveillance footage captured a person walking around the outside of the Myanmar Christian Church. Minutes later, a person can be seen smashing the glass of the right front door with what we’re told was a rock.

Over the course of about 45 minutes you can see another person join in, taking with them what the church said is expensive musical equipment.

"It makes me surprised, you know, ‘Wow, what happened here?’ We never think about these one, this kind of situations that happen in here. That makes me very upset," said senior pastor Kham Khai.

More than $8,000 worth of equipment was stolen, including several guitars and an electric keyboard.

Church member Lydia Khuptong said she’s beside herself.

"I couldn't react at first, I was in shock and I thought, not again, because we had experienced this before,” she said.

She said many of the church members came to the United States from around the world, looking for new opportunities and a better place.

"They always feel like this is a home where we feel secure, and we can find opportunities, and so, right now, we feel really shattered in a way," Khuptong said.

The senior pastor said he is concerned about the safety of his community, and instead of lashing out at the suspects, the church is singing another tune.

"We're really heartbroken by this but we care more about his soul than what he stole from us," Khuptong said.

If you have any information about the burglary, you’re asked to call the police.

The church set up a Go Fund Me page to replace the stolen equipment, you can donate here.
