New Video Shows Joe Mixon's Interrogation

New video was released Tuesday of Joe Mixon’s police interrogation after he decked a woman in a Café in July of 2014.

In the video released by the City of Norman, Mixon is being questioned by investigators about what led up to the punch.  Surveillance video of the 2014 incident shows the woman, Amelia Molitor, pushing then slapping Mixon. Then Mixon winds up and hits her, dropping her to the ground and breaking her jaw.

Mixon told police the whole thing started when Molitor blew smoke in his face outside Pickleman’s Café. 

"The girl came and she intentionally came in my face and blew it in my face. I didn't say nothing to her then. I just talked to her quick,” Mixon told investigators.

Mixon said he followed Moliter into Pickleman’s and overheard one of her friends call him a racial slur. So, he said, he responded with a homophobic slur. That’s when Mixon said Moliter pushed him. 

"My glasses came off and then like I had jumped at her like to watch out. And I was like watch out,” Mixon explained, “And then she came in my face. I put my hand down and she swung on me and after that I was so shocked because she hit me so hard.  It felt like a dude hitting me.”

But the police interrogator told Mixon, Moliter said Mixon was harassing her friend outside Pickleman’s for being gay.

"Explanation of the harassment is that it's because her friend is gay, and that they're being vulgar and disrespectful outside. They come inside to get away from all that,” the investigator said.

That’s when the investigator said, Mixon followed Moliter and her friend into Pickleman’s. "You're continuing to harass him. He's moving away from you because he's intimidated. He's scared."

The investigator said it even appears Mixon spit on Moliter before striking her, but Mixon denies that.
