It's something you can't ever prepare for, but it has happened to Gay Krueger.

“It’s horrible and I don’t wish it on anybody – to go through this pain,” said Krueger.

She lost her son, 36-year-old Kaleb Vickers on November 3. Oklahoma City Police said he was crossing the street near Southeast 46th and Sunnylane, when he was hit by a car that kept going after impact.

“They said, ‘Kaleb is dead.’ And you know, you just wake up and you’re hoping that it was a nightmare. And it just takes off from there,” Krueger explained.

She said her son had a rough life and he was in and out of prison. “But he was a good person and he did not deserve to die like this,” she told News 9.

Police said the car involved in the hit and run crash looked like the image in this story -- a 2006 Hyundai Azera, dark in color and possibly with tinted windows. Police said the vehicle will have front-end damage.

Krueger said whoever is responsible for what happened that night, took a son, a brother and a 14-year-old boy's father. And the fact that the driver just left the scene makes this even harder to fathom.

“I just pray that if you know who this person is or if you’ve seen this car or if you are this person, if you can just do the right thing for everybody and maybe we can get a little peace and closure,” she said.

If you have any information about the hit-and-run crash, call Oklahoma City Crimestoppers (405) 235-7300. You could be eligible for a cash reward.
