Oklahoma City Fire Investigators arrested a woman on an arson complaint in connection to an apartment fire that displaced at least six people early Tuesday morning.

According to the fire department, Stephanie Briggs, 36, was arrested on a complaint of first-degree arson in connection the fire at the Seminole Ridge Apartments, located at 131 W. Interstate 240.

Eight apartments were affected by the fire and four of them were destroyed. Six people are displaced.

A resident of the apartment unit where the fire started told News 9 that his girlfriend, later identified as Briggs, is responsible for starting the fire. He said she became upset when he kicked her out, and that she sneaked in through a window and ignited the fire.

Fire officials said when they questioned Briggs, Briggs neither confirmed nor denied setting fire to her estranged boyfriend's apartment. Investigators believe Briggs started the fire on a bed.

Randy Williams, Chief of Oklahoma City Fire Investigation, said the fire caused about $200,000 in damage to the apartments.
