Escaped Inmate Recaptured In Atoka

Authorities at McLeod Correctional Center in Atoka captured a 40-year-old inmate who escaped sometime Tuesday evening.

The Department of Corrections says Victor Bowser of Ardmore was considered armed and dangerous.

Bowser was was reported missing after an evening head count. He was captured 10 miles southwest of the facility at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday - still in prison grays, according to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Victor Bowser was serving a drug trafficking conviction out of Carter County.  Prison records show he was scheduled to be released in 2026.
