Despite the Oklahoma's lackluster start to the 2016 season, tight end Mark Andrews was one of the bright spots for the Sooners. The redshirt sophomore out of Arizona totaled four touchdowns through OU's first four games, while providing quarterback Baker Mayfield with a reliable safety blanket across the middle of the field.

That being said, Andrews struggled throughout OU's 45-40 win over Texas last Saturday, and his rough day was highlighted by two dropped passes, with one of the drops leading to the Longhorns' first interception of the season.

“Having those couple drops is not something I wanted to have, but I’m just trying to help this team out," Andrews said following Tuesday's practice. "That’s all I really care about. I’m anxious to get back out there and make some plays for this team.”

Mayfield knows just how important Andrews is to the OU offense, and the quarterback is confident his tight end will be able to bounce back nicely when the Sooners host Kansas State this Saturday at 11 a.m.

“Everybody’s human, everybody has a bad game," Mayfield said. "Him and Joe, I think, would be two guys that want to have game back very badly. I expect them to come back.

"You’re already seeing the work ethic this week in practice, they want to get back out there and redeem themselves. So I’m expecting a big game out of both of those guys, just to come back with the mentality of that’s just not who I am, and they’re going to make up for it.”
