Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is in a storm of backlash just hours ahead of the second presidential debate.

Republican politicians are withdrawing their support and some are calling for Trump to drop out of the race.

The GOP has not released a statement since the explosive and vulgar recording of Trump surfaced Friday.

The party's silence compelled the director of communications for Oklahoma's Republican Party to make a drastic move.

Brett Farley said he resigned when the GOP did not demand Trump withdraw as a candidate.

"Really, the question at hand was whether I could stomach continuing to associate with a party that would associate with him," said Farley.

Farley said he'd been in turmoil over his affiliation with Trump for several months.

"I think ultimately it is just a matter of ego and pride. There's just too many folks out there that are unwilling to admit they were wrong and I'm not one of those," said Farley.

Farley said the Republican Party told him there were no plans to denounce Trump's behavior, locally or nationally.

"I did try and f*** her. She was married, " Trump said in the recording from 2005.

He has since apologized saying "it was wrong."

Farley said it's too little, too late.

"The weight of this man's record is just too much to bare at this point," he said.

Farley thinks the GOP should be demanding Trump withdraw as a candidate.
