Despite leading Mustang to a state championship just two seasons ago, head boys basketball coach Terry Long has announced his resignation on Monday afternoon via a news release from the school.

“Coach Long said that economically he has reached a position personally where he must make changes to provide for his family. He's heartbroken to make this announcement as the season has just started, but the time has come when he feels there is no other choice," superintendent Sean McDaniel said in the release.

Long previously won three state championships at his alma mater, Douglass, before he left for the coaching job at Mustang in 2012. Long will still keep his teaching position at the high school.

Assistant principal Robert Foreman will step in as the Bronco's new coach after having 13 years of coaching high school basketball under his belt.
