ME Identifies Remains Found In Spencer Landfill As Missing Teen Girl

The Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed the remains found in a Spencer landfill back in February are that of a teen who disappeared in May 2014.

The remains of 15-year-old Geanna Durham were found just after 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at a waste disposal facility located near NE 23 St. and Midwest Blvd. 

According to the ME’s report, Durham’s body was wrapped in a fitted bed sheet and a comforter and bound with tape, all placed inside of a trunk. The cause and manner of death are both listed as “undetermined”.
