The suspect wanted in connection with the armed robbery and shooting death of a Midwest City store clerk was arrested Saturday afternoon.

Around 12:30 p.m., officers took 17-year-old Samuel Myers into custody without incident at a relatives home in the 9200 block of Pine in Oklahoma City.

According to police, Myers was identified via surveillance cameras after he robbed and fatally shot 33-year-old Salman Tahir at GI’s Market in Midwest City last weekend.

"It is a huge sigh of relief that Myers has been apprehended," said MWC Police Chief Brandon Clabes. "This was a team effort and special thanks goes to the United State's Marshall's task force, Oklahoma City Police Department, our investigators and street crimes unit, the media and the public in bringing this violent offender to justice."
