Drivers in Oklahoma should be extra careful while on the road this weekend.
The Oklahoma Highway Safety Office announced they will be cracking down on speeders on major roadways.
The effort is part of the "Obey the Sign or Pay the Fine" program. Participating agencies say the program is all about saving lives, not giving warnings.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, along with 24 other law enforcement agencies in the state, will be participating in the effort. Officers in Oklahoma say they will be patrolling more than 1,100 miles of roads.
Oklahoma joins Kansas, Iowa , Missouri, and Nebraska in regional speed enforcement campaign.
Troopers say all drivers on all streets should be aware of the speed limit and follow it. In 2015, 27 percent of car crash deaths were tied to speeding, OHP says.
