Sooners To Play In Star-Studded 2017 Phil Knight Invitational

<p>Oklahoma will play in a blue-blood basketball tournament next year on Thanksgiving week.</p>

Oklahoma joins a star-studded group of teams that will compete in the 2017 PK80 – Phil Knight Invitational over Thanksgiving week next year.

The early-season tournament includes Arkansas, Butler, Connecticut, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, OU, Oregon, Portland, Portland State, Stanford and Texas. It will be split into two eight-team brackets consisting of three games per team. All 24 games will be televised on ESPN networks.

The event was created to honor Nike co-founder and 2012 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Phil Knight in advance of his 80th birthday. It will be held at the Moda Center and Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Ore.
