Friday morning the Mustang American Legion Post 323 placed more than 100 flags along Highway 152 and Mustang Road. The ‘Avenue of Flags’ will be displayed through POW/MIA Day on September 16.

Roughly 30-40 of the flags flying will be retired after this year, and need to be replaced for 2017, according to the American Legion Commander, Paul Ray. The cost of the replacements could reach $500-$700, Ray told News 9.

If you’d like to help, the group will be at Western Days on September 9th and 10th in Mustang accepting donations. You could also email posts353@coxinet.net.
