A formal charge has been filed against a man arrested in the shooting death of another man in Oklahoma City.

According to court documents, Gilbert Ryan Terrel, 37, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in the death of Joseph Martin.

Court papers state witnesses identified two suspects, Terrell and Elijah Evans, involved in the shooting and a 2009 MC truck that the suspects drove up in. Witnesses advised Terrel and Evans were taking property from a campsite where the victim had been living and when they were confronted, a brief argument occurred and the victim was shot. Martin was found dead in a grassy area northwest of the intersection with a gunshot wound to the head.

Those same court papers state that Evans waived his Miranda Rights and admitted to being present with Terrel while removing the victim’s property from the camp site where he was staying near N.W. 10th and Eagle Lane, and when Terrel shot the victim.

Evans has been released from the jail. At this time, he's not facing any charges.
