Authorities are investigating after one person drowned in Lake Thunderbird Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, at 5:30 p.m. emergency crews responded to the report of a drowning on Lake Thunderbird, just west of the Calypso Cove Marina area in Norman, Oklahoma.
Troopers said the victim, who has not been identified, was swimming back to shore from a marker buoy. Witnesses then reported seeing the victim go down and yell for help. They looked in the area, but could not find the victim. So they called emergency crews.
The victim was pronounced dead by the Medical Examiner’s office. The victim’s body has been transported to the ME’s office.
