Emergency crews are on the scene of a cut gas line in southeast Oklahoma City, Thursday morning.
According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, just before 10:30 a.m., a maintenance crew was working on a sanitation sewer line when they accidentally hit a gas line at S.E. 70th and Liberty Trails Blvd.
Officials said some of the natural gas did get into the sanitation sewer. Fire crews strategically opened manhole covers to allow the gas to escape. The gas is dissipating into the atmosphere nicely, and no evacuations are necessary.
The utility company is working to access the ruptured portion of line to repair it.
