Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett will attend an Interfaith Service in Dallas, Texas, to honor the lives of five police officers killed in an ambush.

At the invitation of Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, Mayor Cornett, President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM,) is among three other mayors in the leadership team of USCM attending the service at Meyerson Symphony Hall.

Five officers, identified as Michael Smith, Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Brent Thompson and Patrick Zamarripa, were killed as a gunman ambushed police during a peaceful protest on Thursday, July 7.

More than 1,000 people gathered at the Dallas City Hall Monday night for a candlelight vigil remembering the officers.
