If drone pilots aren't careful where they fly, they could face a $20,000 fine.

The bill approved by the House fines drone pilots who are too close to wildfire aircraft, police, or other emergency responders.

It will also set aside $6 million to study ways to reduce the risk of flying a drone near airports and create an air traffic control system.

Drones are supposed to stay at least five miles away from airports unless they have permission from air-traffic controllers in the tower.

According to published reports airline pilots say they see drones while taking off or landing at busy airports, but so far no collisions have been confirmed.

The bill is expected to be approved by the Senate and head to President Obama sometime this week.
