The search is on for an Oklahoma City teacher and coach, accused of sex crimes involving students. An arrest warrant was filed Thursday, June 30, for 42-year-old Curtis Lowe, a science teacher and coach at Southeast High School.

The victims told investigators he touched them while they stood at his desk and humiliated them in front of the class. OKCPS officials said Friday they're aware of the arrest warrant police issued for the teacher.

A spokesperson said he's been on administrative leave with pay since the allegations surfaced.

In April of this year, police began investigating Lowe. According to court documents, a student told police she was standing beside his desk and Lowe put his hand on her leg and "moved it up until he touched her buttocks." It upset her so much, she said she left the classroom after it happened.

The affidavit said he'd also allegedly asked her some inappropriate questions, including “what sexual positions she had tried”.

Another student told police Lowe “always makes inappropriate comments in class” and it’s enough to make it “uncomfortable to be around him and hurts her feelings”.

According to court documents, once he made a comment about her “in front of the class that was sexual in nature while she was blowing into a straw to expand the lungs on a cadaver cat”.

She also reported the same treatment of inappropriate touching at his desk.

This is the same teacher who was under fire in 2012 for a hate-filled Facebook post after voters approved a measure that wipes out Affirmative Action programs in our state. In Lowe’s post he said the results were like spitting in his face. "Die Oklahoma!" The post said. "Hope a tornado blows away the Capital and all the rednecks in it." Lowe later apologized.

Also, in 2006 police said Lowe was suspected of attacking the Midwest City High School football coach in the parking lot of the school. Police said he was angry because his wife had gone to lunch with the victim and other teachers.

It doesn't appear charges were filed in that case.

At last check with police on Friday, Lowe was still at large.

OKCPS released the following statement Friday afternoon concerning the allegations against Lowe:

"The Oklahoma City Public School District is aware of the arrest warrant issued for a Southeast High School teacher/coach involving alleged inappropriate conduct. When administrative officials were made aware of the allegations in April police were contacted immediately, and the employee was placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the criminal investigation."
