Muskogee Man Charged With Killing Pregnant St. Louis Teacher

Missouri prosecutors have charged a Muskogee man with killing a pregnant third-grade teacher in March.

Phillip J. Cutler, 35, is accused of fatally shooting 30-year-old Jocelyn Peters in her Central West End apartment on March 24.

KMOV, the CBS affiliate in St. Louis reports Peters, who was seven months pregnant when she was killed, was pronounced dead after her boyfriend returned home from an out-of-town trip and found her unconscious in her bed.  

According to the probable cause statement, Peters' boyfriend and Cutler were childhood friends.

The day after the murder, Cutler took a Greyhound bus from St. Louis to Muskogee, where he was arrested.
