Billy Donovan, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were all on the same wave length during Thunder exit interviews on Wednesday.

Just going to take some time to decompress and reflect on the season. Kevin’s got to make his decision based on what’s best for him. Use this year as experience to build upon for next year.

And yet, this was among the most interesting rounds of exit interviews in Thunder history.

Donovan mentioned top assistant Monty Williams would not be returning to the team. Westbrook playfully quipped that he could average 20 assists per game.

But Durant’s free agency was, naturally, the topic of the day.

“I have nothing to do with this,” Donovan said when asked about recruiting Durant to stay in Oklahoma City. “This is Kevin’s decision. I could not be more impressed with the way he handled this season. Everywhere we went people wanted to talk about it and he never let it come into the team.”

“He has to make a decision on what’s best for him,” said Westbrook, who has his own free agency decision coming up in 2017. “He’s always been like a brother to me so we’ll always be friends.”

As for himself, Durant insisted that he hadn’t given his looming free agency much thought yet.

“Being around great people, being in a great basketball environment. Those are the two most important things for me.”

Durant said he wasn’t in a hurry to make his decision and that he’d take a few weeks before thinking about contract options.
