Nick Dees, the assault victim, is now back at work. His healing wounds are still a painful reminder of that day.

“The bumps and bruises are healing up and my eye doesn't hurt as much. It still doesn't work so good,” said Nick Dees.

The end of the attack was captured on video.

Last Sunday, April 24, Dees was stopped at the intersection of 24th and Robinson in Norman. While waiting on a red light, he noticed three men harassing a female driver, screaming obscenities and throwing items out of their pickup.

Dees honked, hoping they'd stop.

“They're just being obnoxious. I thought they were going to follow the lady so I got their attention. They followed me to the next light,” said Dees.

Dees said the teens got out of their truck and began clubbing him with a bat.

“One kid has braces and stuff, I mean I was just like these are kids. You know? They aren't going to do anything thing,” he said. "I looked him right in the eye and he just whacked me right in the face.”

The video shows the relentless beating Dees endured, which he said lasted nearly a minute.

Thursday, April 28, Norman Police identified the three attackers as 18-year-old Jacob Annesley, 21-year-old Justice Harris, and 20-year-old Aaron Rhodes.

“Two of them are real nut heads, they've been in some trouble. And one of them had been pretty much off the radar,” he said.

Dees said when the men are caught; he'll be there to make sure they are punished for this crime.

“I am absolutely going to go testify again him and all that stuff. They clearly intended make me permanently injure me or injure me,” said Dees.

All three face assault and battery with a dangerous weapon charges.
