The lawsuits are beginning to mount after January’s natural gas explosion in a NW OKC neighborhood.

More than 50 homes were damaged or destroyed in the neighborhood near Rockwell and NW 122nd.

The explosion came from the house where John Duggan was sleeping.

“I think he had some nightmares following it, but those have gotten better,” said Duggan’s Attorney Luke Abel.

Abel said his client has scars on his legs and arms, but he's back at work.

Now the one-time burn victim is suing Oklahoma Natural Gas for unspecified damages.

“Clearly this was preventable,” said Abel about ONG.

Right next door to Duggan on Whispering Hollow Dr., was the home of Wayne and Darwenia Boyd.

It has also been demolished since the blast.

The couple went to the hospital right after the blast, because they were having trouble breathing. And now, they are also suing ONG, citing physical and mental pain and suffering.

“It’s not an overnight millionaire or some stupid thing that, but there’s real loss,” said the Boyd’s grandson, Michael Boyd.
