Mustang Residents Cleaning Up After Tuesday Night's Storms

We now know an EF-0 tornado touched down in Mustang. 

A two-story barn is now completely leveled. Around it, piles of debris tossed by Tuesday night’s storms.

Wednesday, families say they’re happy to be alive.

“I mean, it’s just utter chaos right now. Everything in the barn is pretty much destroyed,” said Mike Maloney.

The morning after the storm was one of cleanup for Mike Maloney and his family. He said the severe storm passing just outside Mustang stopped by his home.

“Said on the weather it look like there’s a little circulation over Mustang and within 10-15 seconds, small tornado came through and hit my barn – took out my barn,” said Maloney.

Strong winds throwing his life up in the air, only leaving memories behind.

“The barn, the memories, just watched my son and daughter kickbox in the barn yesterday. And now it’s gone,” said Patsy Maloney.

They weren’t the only one’s hit. Their neighbors carport’s roof was ripped off and tossed a few hundred yards away, wrapped around a tree.

“I got off real easy compared to what they have,” said Sondra Cowan.

A family driving along Sara road, on the way to shelter was stopped by a tree that fell on their car.

“This is God to be honest with you, that’s how I feel. Nothing happened to us because God was with us. Material stuff can be replaced but us, we can’t,” said Janet Rios.

Homeowners say they expect to be cleaning up the mess for the next two to three weeks, and are estimating at least $50,000 in damage.
