One day after the Oklahoma City Dodgers scored 13 runs, the Iowa Cubs returned the favor, scoring the game’s final seven runs in a 13-6 win over OKC at Principal Park Monday night.

The 13 runs and 17 hits allowed by the Dodgers (10-8) were both season highs, OKC’s three-game win streak came to an end. It also marked the most runs allowed by OKC since a 14-1 loss at the hands of Fresno on June 1, 2015.

Iowa (7-10) had a five-run lead slip away, but scored the game’s final seven runs after the Dodgers evened the score at six in the seventh inning. In their next at-bat, the I-Cubs untied the game with four runs, and added three more in the eighth.

Each of the first three batters for Iowa in the seventh inning reached base to load the bases with none out, before Juan Perez sent a go-ahead sacrifice fly to right field. Kristopher Negron followed with a successful squeeze bunt to make it 8-6. After a groundout by Matt Murton plated another run, John Andreoli collected his fourth RBI of the night with a single to give Iowa a 10-6 lead.

Andreoli finished 3-for-5 with two home runs, collecting the first multi-homer game of his career. Andreoli entered Monday night with eight career home runs in 441 games.

The I-Cubs finished the scoring with three runs in the eighth. Albert Almora, Jr. lined a RBI double to left field, and Arismendy Alcantara and Perez each notched RBI groundouts.

The eighth inning capped a rough night for the OKC bullpen. Three relievers combined to allow eight runs and eight hits, with three walks and no strikeouts over three innings. Jacob Rhame (0-1) pitched the fateful seventh and took his first loss of the season.

The late surge by Iowa sullied a nice comeback earlier in the game by the Dodgers. OKC trailed 5-0 after two innings, but eventually battled back to tie the game, 6-6, in the seventh inning.

For the second straight game, the I-Cubs used a three-run homer in the first inning to take an early 3-0 lead. With two runners on and one out, Dan Vogelbach launched a home run off the scoreboard in right-center field.

Iowa went deep again in the second inning. After a leadoff double by pitcher Drew Rucinski, Andreoli hit an opposite field, two-run homer out to right field to make it 5-0.

The Dodgers used the long ball to get back in the game in the third inning. With a runner on, Corey Brown connected on his first homer season, going the opposite way to get the Dodgers on the board. On the very next pitch, Rob Segedin launched another homer to center field, trimming Iowa’s lead to 5-3. It was Segedin’s second homer of the series, and his team-leading fourth home run of the season.

The Dodgers chipped away further at the lead in the sixth, when James Ramsey brought Segedin home on a fielder’s choice.

Andreoli pushed Iowa’s lead to 6-4 in the bottom of the sixth when he hit his second home run – another opposite field homer that just cleared the right field fence.

The Dodgers pulled even the seventh. With two runners on, Brown sent a rocket off the right field wall, and his double made it 6-6. Brown finished 2-for-5 and became the first Dodger this season with a four RBI in one game.

OKC continued its recent hot hitting, scoring at least six runs for the fourth consecutive game.

Although he allowed the Dodgers to tie things up in the seventh, I-Cubs reliever Armando Rivero (1-0) came away with the win.

The Dodgers finish their series against Iowa Tuesday afternoon at 12:08 p.m. Live coverage begins 15 minutes before the first pitch on AM 1340 "The Game," 1340thegame.com, or through the free iHeartRadio mobile app.
