Firefighters are working to get a handle on a grass fire that flared up near the town of Macomb, Okla. In Pottawatomie County, Tuesday afternoon.
Crews were called out to battle the blaze that started just east of State Highway 102, along Rattlesnake Hill Rd. The fire is burning north, in the direction of some homes in the area. And authorities tell News 9 there are no fire hydrants in the area, which means firefighters are having to bring in water to fight the fire.
Dense cedar trees and high wind gusts are also making it difficult for firefighters to douse the flames. At least one structure, likely an outbuilding, has been lost.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
