Our pollster shows Bernie Sanders is steadily gaining traction locally. His campaign is clearly hoping to overcome Hillary Clinton's lead with this second visit right before the Oklahoma primary.

The day after another loss in the primaries, now more than ever, it is crucial Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders connect with voters in Oklahoma.

“I think, on Super Tuesday, we stand a chance to win a number of states,” Sanders told News 9.

More than 6,000 people packed the Cox Convention Center floor Sunday, a sign of what the Senator said is a convergence of ideas from both sides of the political spectrum.

“Whether you’re conservative or progressive, you know what? You’re scratching your head as to how you’re going to be able to send your kid to college and not see that kid come out $50,000 in debt,” he said. “Whether you are conservative or progressive, you understand that the middle class in this country for 30 years has been in decline, people are working longer hours for low wages and almost all new income and wealth is going to the top one percent.”

His plans to fix a broken criminal justice system, make public college tuition-free and force the rich to pay their fair share of taxes were once again a part of his speech.

“There would be nothing that would give me more please than to defeat Donald Trump,” Sanders said.

But this close to March 1, his remarks turned to his opponents.

“This is what I think. If you’re going to get paid $200,000 for a speech, must be a pretty damned good speech! And if it’s such a good speech, you got to release the transcripts! Let everybody see them!” the senator said about Hillary Clinton.
