Edmond Police Name Suspects Accused Of Multiple Burglaries

Edmond Police have named a well-known burglary suspect as their main suspect in a gun range theft.

Oklahoma County deputies arrested Aaron Peterson for allegedly stealing an entire ATM in OKC last week.

Before the ATM theft, Peterson was arrested for a gun burglary from a vehicle at Wilshire Gun Range.

Edmond Police have now named Peterson as the prime suspect in the Safety 1^st Gun Range burglary involving three AR-15s.

His wife has also been arrested on a complaint of receiving stolen property. Court papers said a recorded jail house phone call with her husband lead to her arrest involving another burglary at Maxey Yamaha Honda Polaris in OKC.

“I don't care what alarm system you got, he's getting in,” said owner Dan Maxey.

Maxey suffered a costly burglary that police said Aaron Peterson committed and Laura Petersen (a.k.a. Laura Peterson) knew about.

Maxey said Aaron Peterson has hit his store several times and stolen at least five dirt bikes, four-wheelers or side-by-sides by hotwiring them.

“I don't know how to hotwire a four-wheeler, not many people do, but this guy does so whatever he has been doing for a long time, he does it quite well,” Maxey told News 9.

In Maxey’s surveillance video, you can see the man who police said is Aaron Peterson checking out all the vehicles before stealing a $28,000 2016 Yamaha and driving off, nearly hitting another driver.

Court papers said Aaron Peterson recently called his wife from jail and they talked about selling "that bike" for "his bond."

Detectives said Aaron Peterson gave Laura Petersen directions to a field at Memorial and I-35 and told her "the bike was hidden up in some trees."

Jail phone calls are recorded and detectives found the bike before anyone else could.

“He works so hard stealing all this stuff, if he worked that hard at a job, I'm sure he'd be making a couple hundred thousand dollars a year legally,” Maxey said.

Laura Petersen bonded out Wednesday. Aaron Peterson remains in the Oklahoma County Jail on numerous complaints.
