Last week’s slate of games brought a bit of disappointment for Oklahoma State (11-13) with the Cowboys suffering two losses by a combined seven points, but neither loss will hurt as bad as OSU’s 63-56 loss to TCU (11-13) on Monday night.

The Cowboys were without star freshman Jawun Evans (shoulder) yet again, and OSU had trouble getting in much of a flow on the offensive end while the Horned Frogs used a red-hot second half to propel them to victory.

After the Cowboys held TCU scoreless for over seven minutes in the first half and limited the Horned Frogs to only seven made field goals, the home team drained six of their seven three-pointers in the second half to leave the Cowboys searching for a response on their end.

TCU had erased a six-point halftime deficit within the first six minutes of the half, and got up by as many as 12 points at 54-42. OSU was able to save face a bit and claw back within four points with 2:24 left in the game, but TCU’s Malique Trent knocked down a pair of free-throws and Brandon Parrish swished a deep jump shot to seal the Horned Frogs’ win.

Leyton Hammonds led OSU in scoring with 16 points while grabbing four rebounds, and Tyree Griffin added 12 points, five assists and four boards. Jeffrey Carroll also scored in double-digits with 10 points.

Four TCU players scored in double-digits led by Parrish who totaled 15.

Both OSU and TCU are 2-9 in Big 12 play, and the Cowboys will be back in action on Saturday against Kansas State.
