Oklahoma City police are looking for a man who pointed a gun at a clerk’s face, took money out of the register and even grabbed a donation jar.

It happened Tuesday around 10 p.m., at the Circle K gas station convenience store at the corner of NW 63rd and May Ave. And it was all caught on the store's surveillance camera.

The video shows the suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and he walks right up to the counter and pulls a gun from his waistband. He immediately points the gun at the clerk's face - and demands all the money be taken out of the register. But police say the clerk actually swatted the gun away.

That seems to have surprised the crook, who backs up, giving the cameras a really clear shot of his face. But then he goes back to pointing the gun at the clerk and keeps demanding the money, and even asks the clerk for boxes and boxes of cigarettes and to place them in a bag.

The clerk hands over the drawer and the crook starts grabbing at the cash. He then grabs a donation jar, ripping it right off the counter where it was attached with a wire.

“You get an excellent look at this suspect's face,” said MSgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department. “Anyone who knows this person will recognize him from the look you get from these surveillance cameras.”

And that suspect was last seen running through that space between the car wash and the dumpster, so he may live somewhere in the nearby neighborhoods.

If you know who this person is, call Crimestoppers at (405) 235-7300. Oklahoma City police say you can also leave a tip online at www.okccrimetips.com
