Police also watched that video, and it's what led them to a ring of burglars they say is responsible for hitting up an upscale Edmond neighborhood.

The neighborhood is under construction, and right now four people are in jail for breaking into those homes and stealing appliances.

"We took that video, put it on our Facebook,” Oklahoma County sheriff’s office spokesman Mark Opgrande said. “Channel 9 did a story on it, as well. That evening we had an extra patrol in that area."

That deputy was backed into the Summit Lake Addition in Edmond with his headlights off, and lo and behold, the vehicle they were looking for pulled into the neighborhood.

"He pulled over that minivan and arrested three people inside,” Opgrande said. “Those people said they were going to meet a fourth person who was bringing a larger vehicle, and that vehicle we believe was going to be used to steal more appliances from another home that they had previously broken into."

During the heist captured in a neighbor’s surveillance video, two of the men tried to steal a large refrigerator, but it was too big to haul away the in their van. So they came back a second time, and were waiting on a bigger truck to do the job.

"Apparently the first time they broke into the house, they were unable to take the appliances, because they were too big for their minivans,” Opgrande said. “So they had a bigger van come in."

Driving the white van was Ramiro Garcia Contgreas.

Adam Alton who was riding along with him. Also inside the vehicle the deputy said were "three Bud Light tall boys," "a glass pipe with burnt white residue" and "prescription pills."

The duo told the deputy they were waiting on a red van big enough to haul the fridge, and sure enough that red van came pulling into the neighborhood. Jose Ramirez was behind the wheel and Timothy Bordayo was in the passenger’s seat.

All four were men taken into custody.

"They just happened to be at the right place at the right time and were able to make the arrest,” Opgrande said.

The two drivers are facing complaints of breaking and entering as well as stealing appliances. The two passengers were arrested on drug complaints.
