It was less than a month ago the Thunder traveled to Memphis and beat the hometown team by 37 points, and on Wednesday night, the Thunder picked up right where they left off and drilled the Grizzlies 112-94 inside of Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Russell Westbrook did his normal damage from the field, but the presence of Kevin Durant is what lifted the Thunder (25-11) in this OKC victory. Durant missed Monday’s game against the Kings due to a sprained toe, and coincidentally it was the only game the Thunder have lost since Christmas. In his return, Durant nearly went perfect from the field in the second half (7-for-8) as the Thunder breezed through a familiar Grizzlies (19-18) team.

Oklahoma City led 56-36 at intermission, and the boys decked out in their “Sunset” colored jerseys did not look back as they improved to 2-1 against Memphis on the season.

The most surprising stat of the night is the fact the Thunder lost the turnover battle 15-to-8, but still managed to win the game in a dominant fashion. The turnover deficit was mostly counteracted by the fact the Thunder shot 47.1 percent from behind the arc while Memphis only converted seven of their 21 three point attempts.

Durant led the Thunder in scoring with 26 points and 17 rebounds, while Westbrook added 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Durant and Westbrook combined to outscore the Memphis starting lineup 46-to-39.

Mario Chalmers led the Grizzlies with 23 points off the bench, while Grizzlies all-star Marc Gasol was held to only eight points and four rebounds.

Oklahoma City will be back in action on Friday when they take on the Lakers inside of Staples Center in Los Angeles.
