OG&E Working Round The Clock To Restore Power

It’s been days of no power for tens of thousands of Oklahomans after this weekend's ice storm.

OG&E said restoring service has been especially challenging.

“The damage just keeps happening,” OG&E spokeswoman Kathleen O’Shea said. “With an ice storm, the problem of why it takes a long time is the damage is very dispersed."

A single outage may need a while for a crew to fix, according to OG&E.

The power company said it has 1,200 people now working in the metro to restore power.

The power company said the last of the outages will be restored by Wednesday night, but the majority of neighborhoods will have the lights on by Tuesday night.

One of the hardest hit areas in central Oklahoma was El Reno.

OG&E said they hope to have all the power restored there by sometime Monday night.

As of 5 p.m. Monday, there were still just under 50,000 OG&E customers without power.
