An Oklahoma family opens up about the search for answers in the disappearance of a loved one.

John Eaton has been missing for three and a half years and his family has never had a single lead on where he might be. They said the holidays are the worst time of year.

“Now it's three and a half years later and nothing,” Charlie Eaton said.

Charlie wants to bring his brother, John, home.

“The toughest part for me is I'm little brother and he was always big brother, he was always there  and now he's not,” Charlie told News 9.

John Eaton is a 44-year-old father of two with an infectious personality. He has struggled with alcoholism his entire life and was living in a sober house at one point.

The family said John went to OU Medical Center for an alcoholic episode in March of 2012. When he was released, he walked out and he was never seen again.

“If there's no answers, there's just a hole there,” Charlie explained.

The problem is John has always called his mom to check in. However, she has not heard his voice in three and a half years.

Now, once again the holidays are here and it is just not a time to celebrate for the Eatons.

“It's always there, it's always on your mind, but especially the holidays, it's tough,” Charlie said.

Neither Oklahoma City Police nor the family suspects foul play. Charlie has scoured the city, looking in crisis centers and day centers, hoping his brother is part of the homeless community.

That would mean John is still alive.

“I've walked probably hundreds of miles around the city handing out flyers, ‘Have you seen this guy, have you seen this guy’ Charlie said.  “Had that conversation probably a thousand times,” he added.

Charlie just wants John to call home, so they do not have to struggle through another holiday without him.

The family is asking anyone who has seen John to call them at (405)-566-8167 or call Oklahoma City Police.
