A mother just outside the metro says her 11-year-old daughter was assaulted by a classmate. She says it happened on a school bus and a 7th grade boy is the suspect.

This mother says constant verbal and physical attacks against her daughter have gone on far too long, and now she has the Canadian County Sheriff's office involved.

The accused bully is in juvenile detention following an arrest Friday.

“With as many complaints as this student has, I feel he doesn’t need to be at the school,” said Viola Snyder. “He needs to be in a school where he can constantly be watched.”

Snyder says she's had enough. An alleged incident on a school bus Thursday at Riverside School in El Reno has her 11-year-old daughter afraid to go back.

“He told me to get out of the seat, but I wouldn’t move,” said Gabby Snyder.

Gabby says she was already seated on the school bus when the 7th grader approached her.

“And Gabby refused to move, so he grabbed the back of her collar of her shirt, and pulled her backwards, and she said she grabbed a hold of the back of two seats,” said Snyder.

“And once I was half way down to the ground, he grabbed my hair and pulled me down,” said Gabby.

“They don’t have assigned seats on the bus, and my daughter has free range to sit wherever she wants,” said Snyder.

Viola says there are other complaints against this same student and she wants him removed from Riverside for good.

“He’ll be back even after this incident. He’ll be back,” said Snyder. “And she’s worried about what’s going to happen to her when he comes back to school, what kind of retaliation is he going to take against her.”

Riverside Schools in El Reno is a small independent school district.

News 9 spoke with the principal who also serves as the district's superintendent. He declined to comment on the incident.
