Students at the University of Oklahoma gathered Monday morning to show support for those affected by recent terror attacks.

Students and the OU community met under the Seed Sower on the south end of South Oval from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, to show their support for the victims of the recent terrorist attacks worldwide, and to start conversations and encourage education to prevent xenophobia from amplifying.

OU student Emmanuelle Chiocca, a French native who is pursuing a Ph.D in education, organized the event to express support and begin a dialogue about the tragedy, The Norman Transcript reported.

A candlelight vigil will also be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
