The University Of Central Oklahoma Foundation has created the Nikita Prabhakar Nakal Scholarship to honor the memory of the UCO student.

Nikita Nakal, 23, of Mumbai, India, was an MBA student at UCO and died from injuries suffered during the OSU Homecoming Parade crash, October 24.

“We hope the Central family and the people of Oklahoma can begin to remember Nikita more for her persistent smile and vibrancy than for the tragedy of her death. This scholarship is our chance to continue the positivity that emanated from Nikita,” said Director of Graduate Programs for the UCO College of Business Ethan Waples, Ph.D.

If you would like to donate to the scholarship fund visit www.centralconnection.org/NakalFund or write a personal check with “Nikita Prabhakar Nakal Scholarship” in the memo line and mail it to the UCO Foundation, 100 N. University Dr., Box 133, Edmond, OK, 73034.

Students pursuing a MBA at UCO will be able to apply for the scholarship for the Fall 2016 semester. Preference will be given to international students.

A second of two memorial events for Nakal will be held 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in the Nigh University Center Constitution Hall as part of the school’s “Desi Night,” a previously planned UCO Indian Student Association event.
