Cars using gravity, not gas, powered though downtown Oklahoma City.

This is the 12th annual Construction Derby.

The event features soapbox derby cars built from household repair items such as ladders and wheelbarrows.

There are two classes; professional and amateur.

The event is a fundraiser for Rebuilding Together OKC, which repairs homes for low income families and the elderly.

"We do that through working with our aging neighbors. Those who are 55 or older to help them age in place, and we go in and do everything from roof to hot water tanks to accessibility, such has walk through showers or grab bars," Rebuilding Together OKC executive director Mike Edmison said.

Besides the grand prize, there are unique trophies given out in categories such as Best Dressed Pit Crew and Best Use of Accessories.
