Thunder Announces Theme Night Dates For 2015-16

Oklahoma City announces dates for theme nights for the 2015-16 season including Native American Heritage night and Military Appreciation night.

The Thunder announced dates for theme nights for the 2015-16 season, in advance of tickets going on sale to the general public on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. Central.

The Thunder will hold Thunder Alley outside of Chesapeake Energy Arena on Reno Avenue on Opening Night, Wednesday, Oct. 28, before a 7 p.m. tipoff against the San Antonio Spurs. Thunder Alley will return for select dates in November, March and April.  For all scheduled dates, Thunder Alley will open to fans three hours prior to tipoff and will close when the game begins.

All fans in attendance for Opening Night on Wednesday, Oct. 28, will receive a Sprite schedule magnet, including a calendar of 2015-16 Thunder games and tune-in information.

The Thunder will celebrate the state’s strong Native American heritage with Native American Heritage Night on Sunday, Nov. 8, when the team faces the Phoenix Suns.

On Thursday, Dec. 31, the Thunder and its fans will send off the old year with the traditional New Year’s Eve game. For the eighth consecutive season, the Thunder will close out the year with its fans, this year taking on the Phoenix Suns. This tradition continues alongside several other events downtown for Opening Night, Oklahoma City’s New Year’s Eve celebration.

The Thunder will give special recognition for our current military service members and our veterans at its annual Military Appreciation Night, which will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 20, against the Charlotte Hornets.

Rumble the Bison will be joined by several of his fellow NBA mascots on Friday, Feb. 19, for the annual Mascot Mania. In addition to welcoming Rumble’s furry companions, the Thunder will play host to the Indiana Pacers.

During Black History Month, the Thunder will hold Black History Appreciation Night on Saturday, Feb. 27, as the team meets the Golden State Warriors.

As a part of the NBA’s Noches éne-bé-a, which recognizes the growing support of NBA fans and players across Latin American and U.S. Hispanic communities, the Thunder will host Hispanic Heritage Night on Wednesday, March 9, against the Los Angeles Clippers.
