Authorities are investigating the cause of an apartment fire in southwest Oklahoma City.
Just after 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, the Oklahoma City Fire Department arrived on scene of a large fire at the Brookwood Village Apartments at 9401 S. Shartel.
Two people were transported to the hospital, suffering from minor injuries, after officials said they jumped from the second floor.
According to fire officials, the fire has caused about $500,000 of damage to the apartments. Sixteen units were impacted by the fire, including eight that were destroyed.
The Red Cross is now helping 16 families affected by the fire. About seven families are in an emergency situation, and the Red Cross is helping them find hotels and clothes for the time being.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. But arson investigators were called to the scene.
