The Oklahoma City Zoo is celebrating the opening of its new animal hospital.
The 20,000 square-foot facility opened on Saturday with a price tag of $9 million. Zoo officials said the surgery suite can accommodate most zoo animals except the larger ones, like elephants.
Visitors can go inside the observatory suite and watch animal procedures through a glass wall. The animal hospital also has a nutrition center, treatment area and radiology suite.
