Oklahoma City Police are trying to find out who caused a deadly hit-and-run accident early Friday morning.

Police received a check the welfare call at 4:50 a.m. When they arrived at S.E. 89th St. near Shields, a woman, later identified as 22-year-old Alexandra Ayala, was found dead in the street.

Police are investigating this as a hit-and-run. The suspect vehicle is believed to have been going eastbound on S.E. 89th between 4:50 a.m. and 5 a.m. when it struck Ayala, who was walking northbound across S.E. 89th.

S.E. 89th is closed between I-35 Service Rd and Shields. If you need an alternate route, take I-240 and Shields or I-35 and N.W. 27th in Moore.
