One person was killed in a collision involving a semi-truck and a car on Interstate 35 in Moore, Oklahoma, Thursday morning.

It happened at about 4:15 a.m. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2000 Chevy was stopped in the inside lane of northbound I-35, just south of the 19th Street exit due to mechanical issues, when a semi-truck crashed into it.

The driver was in the car at the time of the collision. However, troopers said it’s not clear if the car’s hazard lights were on. The semi driver may not have seen the car and slammed into it.

The male driver of the car was killed, and the semi driver suffered minor injuries.

Due to the crash, the northbound lanes of I-35 were closed just north of Indian Hills Road. Traffic was diverted at Indian Hills Road to Fourth Street for access back to northbound I-35. Drivers were asked to find an alternate route.

Just before 10 a.m., crews cleared the scene of the crash and all lanes are back open on northbound I-35.

Troopers have not identified those involved in the crash.
