Woodward Co. Man Charged In Connection With Wife's Shooting

A Woodward County man accused of shooting his wife then running away to Kansas with their two young children has been charged, officials said.

A Woodward County man accused of shooting his wife then running away to Kansas with their two young children has been charged with attempted murder, officials said.

Chris Solida, 43, was arrested Friday night after a brief standoff in Great Bend, Kansas, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reported.

Solida is accused of shooting his wife, Brandy, 33, in the head Friday afternoon.

Chris Solida is being held in Barton County jail and a Woodward County judge has set his bond at $500,000, OSBI reported.

Kansas officers arrested Chris Solida with aggravated endangerment of a child, aggravated criminal threat and criminal use of a firearm, the Barton County Sheriff's Office in Kansas reported. The bond for the Kansas crimes was set at $50,000.

Brandy Solida has been released from an Oklahoma City hospital. The Solida children are in state custody, OSBI reported.
